Halloween Chocolate Bark

Happy Halloween lovelies!

Have you sourced your outfits and baked your goodies? I have been so inspired by all the Halloween bakes that have been filtering through my feed. There have been some real favourite, and I am already compiling my list for next year! Unfortunately for me, I ran out of time to come up with a masterpiece of my own, but I did however have chance to make this (not so spooky) Halloween Chocolate Bark.

If you are like me and a little short on time, this is the perfect solution. The setup is simple: bittersweet chocolate is melted and topped with bite size pieces of all your favorite Halloween sweets and chocolate! And if you think this is just way to much chocolate, feel free to sprinkle with chopped nuts, salty potato chips or pretzels for added crunch. Scary never tasted so sweet!

Ingredients:

  • 250g dark chocolate, melted
  • an assortment of chocolates and sweets, cut into bite size pieces

Method:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour the chocolate onto the parchment paper, and using a spatula, spread it into an even layer about 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped chocolate and sweets on top of the melted chocolate, then place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to chill for 30 to 45 minutes until the chocolate has fully hardened.
  5. Remove the bark from the refrigerator and carefully slide it onto a cutting board.
  6. Cut the bark into irregularly shaped pieces.
  7. Serve immediately or store in an air-tight container in a cool place.

This is a truly scrumptious treat for Halloween and takes about 5 minutes to make! Let your creative imagination run wild, make sure to use chocolate and sweets that are Halloween themed in colour, and may be even grab a few scary cake decorations like these from the Craft Company.

For me, the mint aero is the best part! It adds a really nice flavour, along with the crunch from the small amount of daim pieces scattered through. This went down a treat, so will definitely be making this one again. The best thing about Chocolate Bark is that it can be enjoyed all year round, using different colours and different chocolate pieces!

What have been your favourite Halloween bakes this year?

Are you a fan of my simple Chocolate Bark?
